After having campaigned *against* the act when he was running for senator, he did vote for the reauthorization in 2006, but only after he and others had done a lot of work to strenghthen civil liberties against potential abuse. So, Obama did vote for the U.S.A. Patriot Act. And the federal government will have direct, real-time access to all individual bank accounts for electronic funds transfer in the Dem bill H.R. 3200. Payroll deductions will be automatic and there's not going to be an opt-out, otherwise you get fined by the government and funds deducted from your bank account. The employee's share of the Medicare portion is 1.45% of wages. People like Barry are regressive; they have a lower lifetime average wage but they receive a larger benefit, as a percentage of their lifetime average wage income, than do individuals with higher lifetime average wages. They are a drain on the society, not because they are liars, but because they don't pay in their fair share, but they get to go to the government nursing home anyway. If they're self-employed they are supposed to be paying double FICA taxes.
