I think he played a few songs longer than he had planned on, and was, as he always is, extremely gracious and generous with his time, stories, etc. For those who missed it, he'll be answering questions again tomorrow at 9:30am. Sal What impressed me most was the professionalism in his guitar playing: crisp, clear, and none of that scratchiness I hear so often when acoustic guitars are played -- you know, the scratchy sound one hears when the guitar players left hand (for right-handed players) moves along the strings as he is changing cords or changing finger position. Too often in live concerts I notice a total disconnect between the original recording and what is being played live...and even though Donovan was playing without accompaniment, his single instrument playing more than satisfactorily represented all the other missing instruments that were on the original recordings.
