I've never heard that about MMY. But I did hear that Sattyanand (one
of his main bramacharyas and also a follower of Guru Dev's) was quite
political in his youth. Perhaps your friend confused the story of
Sattyanand's youth with MMY's.

I wouldn't be at all surprised: This is the same path Martin Luther

I would be completely surprised. I can't imagine
anything more *unlike* Maharishi. I think the
person who suggested earlier that the source in
this question is confusing stories of Sattyanand
with stories of Maharishi is correct.

guts to take a stand more aptly describes those that stand up to
murder, tyranny and evil.

Sometimes it's a good idea to pre-empt those that have proven their
proclivity to murder, tyranny and evil.

Indians like to discuss politics and religion completely the opposite of
Americans. They are quite passionate about both so this doesn't
surprise me in the least. They also wonder why Americans are so apathetic.

It's been my experience that the more a country works, the less
the common man knows or cares about the politics of that country.

There is a definite correlation between how successful a politician
runs a country and apathy about that politician.

I guess then by your premise the American public is going to start to be
quite noisy soon since this country isn't working very well right now.

I am completely dumbfounded how you could say that.

Despite rising oil prices, inflation is still incredibly low.

Unemployment is at a very low level

All economic indicators say the economy is booming.

There's no global warming.

We're engaged in liberating 30 million people.

The American Dream is alive and well.

That's all it is, a dream...

Oh boy folks, where do we start with waking up the Shempster?

Inflation first off is misreported. They've been doing that for years
clear back into the 1990s. All you have to do is look around and
compare what you are paying for things like food these days compared
with 6 years ago.

They don't count independent contractors in the unemployment figures and
there are more than ever. I've never gotten a call yet from the
government to see if I'm currently working on a contract. Plus many
people have given up and they aren't counted. So the unemployment
figures are off. And how many employed are working at a lower salary
than they had before.

Let's see GM is about to go tits up, so it NWA, yeah right the economic
indicators show the economy is booming all right. Boy ain't the stock
market been something the last couple weeks?

There's no global warming eh? Guess you read the papers about as much
as King George?

There are 30 million gays in the US?

On the count of three one two.
