I noticed that pango and inkscape-svg have slightly different spacing between
some letter combinations which causes some words, which are within the spaces of
others, to

there is a request in the design queue for a default logo for projects on
fedora hosted that do not have a logo.
it appears that there is now a default logo on fedora hosted (based on a
banner that mo did a while back i think...)

AFAIK, we don't have one, this is handled manually by one single person.

No. We used to use a ticketing system and it was a royal pain in the
butt because it didn't work right, I ended up losing some requests, the
response piece was broken so I had to copy/paste
transparent record of
logo approvals(besides your mailbox) regardless of how many people are
processing the queue. Hopefully the revised trademark guidelines (in
progress) would reduce the need for this process for the most part.

Can you try a different concept for the icon? I had talked to James
about the request a bit and one other idea we had IIRC was a picture of
a sledgehammer (QA tries to break stuff :) ). Another thing

does not require the usage of the tango style does it?
If we use Mist-inheriting icon theme we should follow the style and use
Tangoish, if we use Echo, we should echoify the logo.
Have you filed a bug about the current icon?
