can i kexec a running f9 system to a new kernel?

quite simply, if i have a running f9 system, can i configure and build a new (relocatable, for convenience) kernel and just kexec over to it? i've read the online info and it strongly suggests that it's possible, but i can't believe it's that easy and i'd rather not try it without someone
