Fedora 11 Update: duplicity-0.5.18-1.fc11
Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2009-5610 2009-05-28 07:02:38 Name: duplicity Product : Fedora 11 Version : 0.5.18 Release : 1.fc11 URL : http://www.nongnu.org/duplicity/ Summary : Encrypted bandwidth-efficient backup using rsync algorithm Description : Duplicity incrementally backs up files and directory by encrypting tar-format volumes with GnuPG and uploading them to a remote (or local) file server. In theory many protocols for connecting to a file server could be supported; so far ssh/scp, local file access, rsync, ftp, HSI, WebDAV and Amazon S3 have been written. Because duplicity uses librsync, the incremental archives are space efficient and only record the parts of files that have changed since the last backup. Currently duplicity supports deleted files, full unix permissions, directories, symbolic links, fifos, device files, but not hard links. Update Information: - Added support for RackSpace's CloudFiles, cf+http. - Added support for Tahoe- LAFS from the patch, upstream patch #6743: Tahoe backend for duplicity (https://savannah.nongnu.org/patch/?6743) - Only half of this bug is fixed but it's still useful, upstream bug #21792: pipe call fails with an error OSError: [Errno 24] Too many open files (https://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?21792) - Changed from using ulimit external command to resource.getrlimit to check open files limit. - Removed one line of code left from some testing that I did that caused a crash when the target dir was empty and collection-status was requested. - Moved from using the df command to get temp space availability to Python's os.statvfs() call. Not all df commands work the same way. - Upstream patch #6813: Making changelist easy to read (https://savannah.nongnu.org/patch/?6813) - Upstream patch #6814: Ignore comments in filelists (https://savannah.nongnu.org/patch/?6814) - Upstream bug #24825: duplicity warn on insufficient TMPDIR space availability and low max open file limits pre-backup. (https://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?24825) - Upstream bug #25594: wrong backup statistics (https://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?25594) - Upstream bug #25976: Password requested when not needed. (https://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?25976) - Upstream patch #6806: More graceful handling of old --short-filename files (https://savannah.nongnu.org/patch/?6806) - Added tilde and variable expansion to the source or target argument that is not a URL. - FTP backend was failing on PureFTPd when the -x '' option was removed from the second ncftpls popen, a fix that was implemented due to bug #24741. This fix does the ls in one pass by extracting the last entry on the 'ls -l' listing. - If a file is unreadable due to access rights or other non-fatal errors, put out error message and continue rather than dying messily with a traceback. - Added tilde '~' expansion and variable expansion in the options that require a filename. You can now have this --archive-dir=~/ArchDir/$SYSNAME if you need it. No expansion is applied to the source or target URL's. - Fixed problem I caused, again, where sys.exit() was trapping instead of exiting. Added big note to not to do that again. - After email voting among known duplicity contributors, the decision was reached to revert to the GPL Version 2 license, so with their consensus, duplicity is now underGPL Version 2. - Revert to calling NcFTP utilities (ls, get, put) directly rather than scripting ncftp via pexpect by reverting to the 0.5.07 version of ftpbackend.py. - Changed fatal error regarding version 3.2.0 of ncftpput to warning level since it has been reported that the problem does not occur on most distributions. - Changed from log.Log with numbered log levels to log.Debug (9), log.Info (5-8), log.Notice (3-4), log.Warn (1-2), log.FatalError (0). The -vN option has not changed. Verbosity may also be one of: character [ewnid], or word ['error', 'warning', 'notice', 'info', 'debug']. The default is 4 (Notice). The options -v4, -vn, and -vnotice are functionally equivalent, as are the mixed-case versions, -vN, -vNotice, -vNOTICE. - Normalized include statements and tried to insure that all duplicity includes were from the duplicity module. - Upstream patch #6790: Add --exclude-if-present https://savannah.nongnu.org/patch/?6790 - Add more error detection to FTP backend. - Fix backends so sleep does not occur after last retry. - Fix so BackendException does not cause traceback except when verbosity is at level 5 or higher (Info level). - Adjust log levels so some errors show up with default verbosity. - Fixed bug where an extra comma caused a traceback during a warning about unnecessary sig files. Plus fixed print so the real filename would show up and not a Python

Fedora 10 Update: wannier90-1.1-4.fc10
Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2009-5115 2009-05-19 00:07:11 Name: wannier90 Product : Fedora 10 Version : 1.1 Release : 4.fc10 URL : http://wannier.org/ Summary : Maximally-localised Wannier functions Description : Wannier90 is a program for calculating maximally-localised Wannier functions (MLWF) from a set of Bloch energy bands that may or may not be attached to or mixed with other bands. The formalism works by minimising the total spread of the MLWF in real space. This is done in the space of unitary matrices that describe rotations of the Bloch bands at each k-point. As a result, wannier90 is independent of the basis set used in the underlying calculation to obtain the Bloch states. Therefore, it may be interfaced straightforwardly to any electronic structure code. The locality of MLWF can be exploited to compute band-structure, density of states and Fermi surfaces at modest computational cost. Furthermore, wannier90 is able to output MLWF for visualisation and other post-processing purposes. Wannier functions are already used in a wide variety of applications. These include analysis of chemical bonding in real space; calculation of dielectric properties via the modern theory of polarisation; and as an accurate and minimal basis set in the construction of model Hamiltonians for large-scale systems, in linear-scaling quantum Monte Carlo calculations, and for efficient computation of material properties, such as the anomalous Hall coefficient. Update Information: First release. [SECURITY] Fedora 11 Update: drupal-views-6.x.2.6-1.fc11
Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2009-6049 2009-06-15 21:59:30 Name: drupal-views Product : Fedora 11 Version : 6.x.2.6 Release : 1.fc11 URL : http://drupal.org/project/views Summary : Provides a method for site designers to control content presentation Description : The views module provides a flexible method for Drupal site designers to control how lists of content (nodes) are presented. Traditionally, Drupal has hard-coded most of this, particularly in how taxonomy and tracker lists are formatted. This tool is essentially a smart query builder that, given enough information, can build the proper query, execute it, and display the results. It has four modes, plus a special mode, and provides an impressive amount of functionality from these modes. Update Information: * Advisory ID: DRUPAL-SA-CONTRIB-2009-037 [0] * Project: Views * Versions: 6.x-2.x * Date: 2009-June-10 * Security risk: Moderately critical * Exploitable from: Remote * Vulnerability: Cross Site Scripting (XSS), Access Bypass DESCRIPTION -The Views module provides a flexible method for Drupal site designers to control how lists of content are presented. In the Views UI administrative interface when configuring exposed filters, user input presented as possible exposed filters is not correctly filtered, potentially allowing malicious users to insert arbitrary HTML and script code into these pages. In addition, content entered by users with 'administer views' permission into the View name when defining custom views is subsequently displayed without being filtered. Such cross site scripting [1] (XSS) attacks may lead to a malicious user gaining full administrative access. An access bypass may exist where unpublished content owned by the anonymous user (e.g. content created by a user whose account was later deleted) is visible to any anonymous user there is a view already configured to show it incorrectly. An additional access bypass may occur because Views may generate queries which disrespect node access control. Users may be able to access private content if they have permission to see the resulting View. VERSIONS AFFECTED --- * Versions of Views for Drupal 6.x prior to 6.x-2.6Drupal core is not affected. If you do not use the Views module, there is nothing you need to do. SOLUTION Install the latest version. * If you use Views for Drupal 6.x upgrade to 6.x-2.6 [2]In addition, preventing the node access bypass may require adding *node: access filters* to the View manually if using relationships to nodes that might be restricted. Also see the Views project page [3]. REPORTED BY - * The exposed filters XSS was reported by Derek Wright (dww [4]) of the Drupal Security Team [5] * The XSS from the view name was reported by Justin Klein Keane (Justin_KleinKeane [6]) * The unpublished content access bypass was reported by Brandon Bergren (bdragon [7]) * The node access query bypass was reported by Moshe Weitzman (moshe weitzman [8]) of the Drupal Security Team [9] FIXED BY Earl Miles (merlinofchaos [10]) Views project maintainer. CONTACT -The security contact for Drupal can be reached at security at drupal.org or via the form at http://drupal.org/contact and by selecting the security issues category.[0] http://drupal.org/node/488068 [1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross- site_scripting [2] http://drupal.org/node/488082 [3] http://drupal.org/project/views [4] http://drupal.org/user/46549 [5] http://drupal.org/security-team [6] http://drupal.org/user/302225 [7] http://drupal.org/user/53081 [8] http://drupal.org/user/23 [9] http://drupal.org/security-team [10] http://drupal.org/user/26979 ChangeLog: * Thu Jun 11 2009 Jon Ciesla l...@jcomserv.net - 6.x.2.6-1 - New upstream, fixes SA-CONTRIB-2009-037. Chances are LOW that it will work for you.- yumdb - this is a separate, simple-text database of information about each package that you install/update. Specifically information like what repo a package was installed from, why it was installed, etc, etc. More things will be added here as we progress. Right now, if you install a pkg you can see what repo it came from in yum info pkgname output. Fedora 10 Update: perl-Text-RecordParser-1.3.0-1.fc10
Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2009-5151 2009-05-19 00:08:01 Name: perl-Text-RecordParser Product : Fedora 10 Version : 1.3.0 Release : 1.fc10 URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/Text-RecordParser/ Summary : Read record-oriented files Description : This module is for reading record-oriented data in a delimited text file. The most common example have records separated by newlines and fields separated by commas or tabs, but this module aims to provide a consistent interface for handling sequential records in a file however they may be delimited. Typically this data lists the fields in the first line of the file, in which case you should call bind_header to bind the field name (or not, and it will be called implicitly). If the first line contains data, you can still bind your own field names via bind_fields. Either way, you can then use many methods to get at the data as arrays or hashes.
