Actually if a cat is repeatedly vomiting vets usually say to remove food for 24 hours.  While cats should not go 48 hours without eating due to risk of fatty liver disease, 24 hours is ok (and they commonly go without food for 24 hours when they have surgery and need to be fasted beforehand)

Sue, I looked up Anitra Frazier's book and diarrhea and vomiting can also be a sign of an impacted hairball. She recommends giving kitty half a teaspoon of plain petroleum jelly. Sue, Wondering how your kitty is today. I also must apologize--I focused on the words diarrhea and vomiting in your post, not the words "not eating". So, yes, getting her to eat anything nutritious would be good. If she hasn't improved overnight I hope you're able to get medical advice or attention
