Hi Julie,
I do hope you can get her to keep eating...so she will get some strength back..I also have the transdermal pred. for Bandy just in case we need it...I get my transdermals from Roadrunner Pharmacy in Phoenix...Have you tried the appetite stimulants? I didn't know if I missed that or not,
Hi Nina,
I was sorry to hear that Grace hasn't been feeling so good lately...I do hope she is doing better now. It could just be the thoughts of her having a long and healthy life...It does seem to help things when they don't know we are stressed about them feeling so rotten..and giving off those
George is a very lucky boy to have you as Mom. I know it hurts now, but soon it will be better. You gave him just what he needed LOVE . So have no regrets. I'm so he doesn't.

Hi there,
My name is John, i'm from Newcastle, England. Me and my partner Julie discovered on Saturday that our lovely cat Smokey has Leukemia. Needless to say we are both totally devastated with the news. Smokey is very special to us because she just decided to come and live with us about 3
Hi, I am so sorry to hear about Smokey
I am glad that you found us,,, the group of people who are on this list are
just amazing,,, I am on several different support list, but I adore this group
so very much they are so many people with lots of experience not
judgemental and supportive I
Hi John,
Sorry you had to find us, but glad it's US you found:) What other work was done/ tests run etc Saturday as well as the FeLV test? With the dramatically increased thirst, I would think diabetes and would want a full blood chemistry panel run. FeLV is more like human AIDS than anything
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Full blood tests were done on Smokey, but all i can remember the Vet telling me, after she told me about the Leukemia, was that her Hb level was very low, way way below acceptable levels. And that 2 other levels were way low, but i cant recall what they were. It sounds

Get a copy and see if you can find someone who practices
alternative medicine. Mine has worked wonders for my 4 legged friends,
improving the quality if not always the quanity of life. Maybe someone can
give you suggestions on who to see in the UK.

John,
I would definitely get a copy of all the results whenever you have anything done. You can post them here for feedback from people who've had similar problems and/or use them to get a second opinion from another vet. I'm not sure what your abbreviations are, they can vary, but are there any
Hi. It sounds like she has something going on with her kidneys. The vet must suspect lymphoma, because I can not think of why else he would have put her on a steroid. Personally I would take her to an internist for blood work and an ultrasound of her kidneys. If it is lymphoma, they sometimes
John, it is not a continent difference. Most vets here are very lax about getting to the root of the problem with FeLV+ cats and just write them off. You have to find a vet who does not, or see an internist who is board-certified (probably at a large veterinary hospital, or here in the states
Oh, and if it does turn out to be anemia from kidney problems, there is a drug called Epogen that can help with that.

Sad news - Marietta (the only female in the litter) had to be pts today
- she was not breathing hardly at all. Not sure if FIP or not but
she was suffering but now she isn't - doesn't make it any easier, I am
going to miss her sweet little face rubbing my leg and arm when it was
feeding time
Oh Terri my heart goes out to you - losses are so hard
and when you have a string of them, it just wears you
down... Know that all of us are here for you and
sharing your pain at her loss and your joy at having
been able to know her and give her a loving safe home.
Our thoughts and tears are with
Oh my god, Terri. I am so sorry. This is wrenching.

Terri,
From what I've read about these poor babies their mouth
problems, it sounds that it could possibly be calici virus, which is quite
common in kittens w/ compromised immune systems. The calici virus has been
linked to a reaction from vaccinations, and Felv+/FIV+ kittens are most prone
Terri, I'm sorry you are going through so much loss. I have lost three in six months and I know it must be horrible to lose three so close together. I hope Marietta will be the last for a long time. Sheila
OMG Terri I can't believe it, I'm so sorry to hear you have lost
another precious furbaby. Marietta must have really wanted to be with
her sibs but it must be so hard for you. My heart just aches for you, I
wish I could say something to make it not hurt so badly. Please take
care of
