another blind kitten

2005-07-24 Thread BONNIE J KALMBACH
Isn't there somebody on this list who is taking care of a blind
kitten? Another blind kitten has been found by someone on the VETMED
list, who doesn't know what to do.
I answered his post saying I thought there was someone I could ask.

Re: Prayers for Buck

Sheila,

I'm obviously very behind, but I hope Buck is doing ok. Please don't blame yourself! We are all only human. I have blamed myself as well for not 'noticing' things were wrong before it was too late. It's hard when you're dealing with multiple cats and you've just been through your loss of Spanky. Prayers coming your way.

Hi Guys, I hope you all will pray for my boy Buck who is at the Vets tonight in critical condition. Buck is brother to Spanky who I lost suddenly last week. He is suffering from another blockage and this time the Doctor doesn't give much hope for recovery. Buck and Spanky were both felv + since kittens, but you would never know it to look at them. He is a 20lb sweet baby. Monday he started to mope around and stopped eating. I thought he was missing his brother. They were always together playing or sleeping, just like twins one always seemed to know what the other was thinking. I didn't realize he was sick, he hid it well. The vets around here close all day Wed so I couldn't get him to a doc until this morning. So now he may die because I didn't get him to a doctor sooner. I haven't had the
chance to get over losing Spanky and now I may lose him too. I think that is why I didn't spot his illness. I guess maybe he wants to be with his brother but if he leaves me it will break my heart. Thanks for listening and please send good thoughts his way. Sheila

Adri

Martha,

I am so sorry to read that you lost your dear Adri. How long did you have Adri? It's hard to lose a cat to felv, especially if they're very young.

It helps to remember though, that just like people. You never know when it's going to be time for them to go. It's just that with the leukemia you 'know' there's a problem. I've lost kittens to other diseases as well.

You did a wonderful thing by giving homes to leukemia cats. Most people just want to euthanize them immediatelyif they are positive because they 'are going to die'. Well they are all going to die.

Thank goodness wedon't euthanize people who have cancer, or heart disease, etc... because we know they have a poor prognosis. And with felv, you just never know. Some live many years. I hope Chema does have many happy years with you, and again, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Thank you all for your words. I am feeling very bad.
I still have chema, he is also FeLV(+) (I adopted Adri and Chema at the same time, i didn't know they had FeLV). Chema has been pretty heathly. I really hope he will be heathly for looong time.
it is heartbreaking see chema looking for Adri
