What a sad 2 days.  My heart goes our to you, Dr. Jen and all the volunteers
who care for and love these special kitties.  They each sound so precious.
Thanks to all of you for everything you do.

What can I say we lost 4 more of our wonderful Sids kids tonight.Losing 5 in 2
days is VERY hard on all of us volunteers, not to mention Dr. Jen.
Osiris has been a part of my life ever since I started volunteering at Sids.He
was there before I started over 5 years ago.He was a beautiful sweet soul, with
the cutest face.He always took his everyday meds like a champ.I will miss you
Osee.
Finn, now he was a special guy in my heart. He had the most sweet crooked head
tilt(I am a sucker for tilts) I will forever remember his sweet loving ways.
Windsr was a unique looking sweet boy who loved crawling into anybodys lap he
could find.
Orson was a VERY handsome siamese boy with beautiful blue eyes.He too was a
lover.
I will post pics on Facebook as I do for ALL our Sids kids...if anyone would
like to see them I am Sherry DeHaan...just send a friend request and tell me
you are from the yahoo group.I will try to post them later tonight when I get
home.
Thank you all for your support

Sherry, my heart aches for. One loss is devastating enough. Bless you for
loving and caring for these sweet fur angels. You were certainly an angel
to them. I hope you are able to take solace at the thought of them romping
together at the rainbow bridge. A candle is lit here in VA to help guide
them there.

Tweezer lost his battle with this horrible disease this afternoon. He had
an aggressive lymphoma so there was no hope that he would get better or that
he could even be made more comfortable. He crashed at the beginning of this
week and was having spasms that were making it very difficult for him to
eat, drink or even to stand. He has been very unhappy and scared all week
long.

When I took Tweezer in he was extremely malnourished and had worms, ear
mites, goopy eyes and an upper respiratory infection. As his health
improved he became such a happy cat! He was so happy to be alive, he always
wanted to play and be loved. This is a you-tube link to a video I took of
him a few months ago. He would come to me and ask me to come and play with
him and then lead me to the toys.

Rest in peace my darling Tweezer. My heart is breaking but at least there
is no feline leukemia where you are now.

I love the name! The only real consolation you can have is that you loved him
and now he is no longer suffering. I seem to average 1 loss a year and in a
really bad year, lost 3. They are buried in my flower beds where I can visit
with them. I am just thankful the God has brought more burbabies into my life
to love me. Each time I loose one, I cry and people say don't get anymore
because it hurts to loose them. But then another one shows up. What can you
do?

Re: [Felvtalk] Finding Proper Forever Homes for FeLV Kittens?

2011-02-05 Thread dlgegg
The possible costs should be told to an adopter so they can make a decision
before adopting the kitten. For myself, I am a bit overweight so I figure that
I can afford to eat less and take care of my cats. It is a personal decision
that requires some serious thought. One cannot make such a decision lightly.
After all, this cat's life depends on you and once you take it into your heart
and find you cannot care for it is the wrong time to make decisions. best to
do what is best for the kitten, not you.

[Felvtalk] Beyond the Rainbow

2011-02-05 Thread Natalie
Beyond The Rainbow

As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.

I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.

I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.

For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.
