Re: [Felvtalk] Leukemia Positive Cat
I don't much trust tests anyway but if you want to get a more accurate test, in a month do the IFA test on him. I had an adult cat who tested strong positive. I kept him for 3 months in a separate room, tested again and it was negative but because he would be mixed in with my many rescues, I had the IFA test done and it was also negative. Moses has been living with 20 of my rescues for the past 6 years now. Well, when I find that my cats don't match the furniture, I throw out the furniture. That's it! I have quarry tile floor except in bedrooms, they are wood. Furniture is covered in sheets of various colors which can be taken off when company comes. The color scheme in living room varies from sheet washing day to sheet washing day. I figure that if people know me, they understand. Others don't have to come to my house if it upsets them. Re: [Felvtalk] Cat in Ohio needs home
Sandy hit us hard! We had 3 feet of heavy wet snow which pulled down trees as well as electric and phone lines. I had no idea we'd get hit so hard this far inland, as we are in the eastern mountains of WV, but we had no electricity for two weeks and we still don't have a phone or internet service. We have to drive out to a place that has service. Anyway, I was not able to check into the group all this time, and I was very worried about that cat in Ohio who was abandoned. Now I know both cats are fine and have found a home. THANK YOU A MILLION TIMES for your kindness in taking these poor babies. The woman who abandoned them should be ashamed of herself. I'd like to see her chained to her front porch all winter with no food or shelter! Lorrie and 24 rescued cats On 10-31, Kathryn Green wrote: > Thanks to all for kind words. Re: [Felvtalk] Leukemia Positive Cat
I have a 6 1/2 month old rescued kitten. He tested FelV pos. at 8 weeks old and I just had him tested again. This time the results were a "light pos." They told me it just barely turned positive on the test. Would this indicate he is in the process of throwing off the virus? I LOVE this kitten so much. He is such an affectionate boy, and I'm praying I don't lose him. So many FelV positive cats don't make it past aa year or so. Re: [Felvtalk] Cat proof furniture
I've heard of this... People who want to get rid of a cat because the fur doesn't match the furniture.. Geez. I have my furniture covered in multicolored velour upholstery, and my rugs, are all oriental design. The design really hides the fur, and the soft velvet upholstery is not what cats like to claw. It works, and I have a bunch of cats of all sizes, shapes and colors including three long haired cats who really leave a lot of fur around! There are ways to live with multiple cats and still have a nice home, but too many people use fur as an excuse to dump their pets.
