Re: [Felvtalk] OT-diatomaceous earth - warning

2013-07-05 Thread dlgegg
I really have not had any problem with fleas or ticks so far, just buffalo
gnats and now that the weather is warmer, they seem to be gone. Possible
problem: I have 3 that do not go out at all, don't even ask. Also, we have an
open floor plan meaning no doors except bathrooms and the cats can open them.
Mostly I am worried about the cracks under the baseboards. Guess I could put
the inside guys in carriers while I was doing this, but how long? Could I
maybe use a wet Swiffer mop to get any off the floor and leave what fell
between cracks? Most of the house is quarry tile and bedrooms are wood
laminate.

Amanda, I am so sorry that Polli got such bad news, but it seems that you have
the right vet now. Any future cats or dogs will have a better chance. You
have tried your best and I do believe your decision is right. You want to keep
her with you, but this is best for her. My prayers are with your both.

Amanda, so sorry to hear about Polli. I'll say a prayer for her, that her
journey and transition are easy. And for you, that the pain of loss heals
quickly.

Hi everyone,

We took Polli in to a new vet today to get something new to treat her URI.
She had a bad reaction to Clavamox and we were looking for a new vet who
would be more aggressive and open minded with her treatments.

We found a great vet, one I used to go to when I lived on the other side of
town. He was optimistic about her treatment and was confident we could get
her over this URI. However, he noticed that her belly is distended. He did
a tap and diagnosed her with FIP (another disease I have already dealt with
before). Her skin and gums are also very jaundiced. He says it appears her
body is shutting down.

We made an appointment to euthanize her at our home tomorrow afternoon.
She's been on a decline for the past two weeks and feel it's time to help
her go.

Please keep us in your thoughts.

Best,

-Amanda

[Felvtalk] Bad News

2013-07-05 Thread Amanda K. Payne

He
did a tap and diagnosed her with FIP (another disease I have already dealt
with before). Her skin and gums are also very jaundiced. He says it
appears her body is shutting down.

We made an appointment to euthanize her at our home tomorrow afternoon.
She's been on a decline for the past two weeks and feel it's time to help
her go.

Please keep us in your thoughts.

Best,
-Amanda

Re: [Felvtalk] Leaving the group

Terri
I have one right now that loves tomatoes! So unusual! I also have to hide mine
or there will be BIG bites taken out of every one. And canned tomatoes, she
licks the can!
Terri, I have no positive cats right now either, but I love all of these
people. And the combined knowledge here about ANYTHING feline, is phenomenal.
Please take care.
