That doesn't give me much hope, as Katie is 11 years old, but I can hope
for the best. How long are they on the chemo? Was she also treated with
interferon for the FeLV?

Sharon,
I am sorry your Katie may have
lymphoma. My Effie, FeLV+, developed a chest mass, lymphoma, at 2-1/2
years old. Without chemo kicking butt on Friday she would not have lived
through the weekend ... she lived well for another seven months on chemo.
She went into remission

Sharon,
Prayers and good wishes for you and your kitty. I'm glad you've found
another vet that you that cares enough to suggest chemo. Felv causes
our kitties immune systems to be compromised and they more readily
succumb to other diseases like cancer. Usually treatment for a pos is
the same
tment. Your vet, or another vet in your area, would know best. I'll pray for Katie. Take care of the both of you.Lance
Sharon,my Maizee had a large lymphoma crushing her airway that made it hard for her to swallow, then 3 days after 1 treatment of chemo she was breathing and eating normally. She too had felv.I did my best for 6 months before she got really bad and I had to say good-bye.sharon MISTIC <[EMAIL PROTECTED
I just got back from the vet, they found fluid that was pressing on her
esophagus, making it hard for her to swallow. Now they see a mass in one
of her lymphglands, and I am waiting for results of the tests. If she has
lymphoma, they suggest chemotherapy treatment. If she also has FeLV, wou

Even though I did not know (or know of) Katie, I feel it like
a personal loss---such a tragic waste of human and animal life. And
devastating for her husband and the rescue world she worked so hard for.
My heart goes out to her husband and all her family.

Some of you may not have known Katie Tetley, personally. I am sending this to as many rescues as I could to be sure all would have this tragic news.
Katie Tetley, along with numerous animals, died in her home yesterday as a result of an electrical fire. I believe her beloved "Cookie
