P.S. Prayers going out for an increase in your

Hey Caroline,
I'm glad to hear that your vet is using Epogen.
That's probably one of the most
P.S. There is a FAQ link on the Felineleukemia.org

beware, we here do not always agree with Cornell, and

Paolo,
Carrington Labs isn't going to be much help. Manufacture of Acemannan had
to shut down during the audit and it isn't going to be available again for a
couple of weeks when the next batch gets out of manufacturing. (long story
about the audit) It is only available from Veterinary
Thank you Elizabeth, in effects, notwithstanding Acemannan and
Carrisyn are sometimes used as synonyms, I am beginning to suspect
that they aren't actually synonyms. I will stick with Acemannan.

If Popeye is hyper-T, the meds can reverse some of the
damage to the heart if the heart problems are related
to the hyper-T. You should use the transdermal gel
(rubbed into the ear) because of the difficulty in
giving Popeye meds. That's what Julie gets and she
doesn't even know she's getting
more about the gel. I hope Tonya lets everyone
know about Popeye

Hi Marissa,
Did the vet say whether or not Jake had any
reticulocytes present in his blood? This is
important, because it tells you whether or not he is
still making red blood cells
Thank you Wendy. The vet did say that Jake's anemia is non-regenerative. I am still new to this so I am not hip on the terminology but am learning. Thanks for your prayers! I am taking him in to get another epogen shot today, and hopefully he will respond.

Hey Marissa,
I have heard good things about Epogen, even with
non-regenerative anemia, so I hope that he does
respond to it. I prayed for Jake today and will
continue to do so. Please keep us posted.
