Hi all
I've been up most of night with Flavia. I noticed she wasn't
moving much last night, and didn't appear to want to eat. When I tried coaxing
her with a treat, she went into the box and ate some litter instead. Not good.
Then she defecated outside the box 2 or 3 times. I stayed with her

The only problem with Triumph is that it has a high phosphorous content. (NOT good for older kitties, or cats prone to kidney problems.) Just an FYI.

Which Eagle Pack are you feeding? We have several with allergies and are having trouble finding a food that truly makes a difference. Someone gave me two different dry formula Eagle Pack foods and both had grains in them. Do you feed canned also?

How frustrating for you! So, poor Flavia made a trip to the vet for
nothing? Wasn't that amazing that she went in the carrier by herself?
At least the experience, although I'm sure scary, wasn't too traumatic
for her. You must be exhausted. Flavia and you are in my prayers that

Hi, Belinda, I just talked to my vet -
He did not think he has Fatty Liver disease, since they usually don't
eat - and thank god, George eats - he might have hepatitis - but the
only way to make sure of it, he said, is to go through biopsy, which I
refused to do on him right now. I guess
Strength and health coming to Flavia and you too! That's really unfortunate about that other clinic, but at least now you know.. Once again, I'm so glad I have my vets - they aren't open on the weekends, but they are open at 730a with a vet getting there at 8. Good luck!Kerry MacKenzie [EMAIL
I don't have any experience with liver problems in my babies, but I do remember a lot of people using milk thistle. Good for George Give him an extra pat or three for me:)Hideyo Yamamoto [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

Hideyo,
I have been using Milk Thistle for one of my guys and it is remarkable. I used the brand made by Animal Apawthecary and Bruce hates it, but it seems to keep help with his anemia. Also, someone at work, has a son who is on Milk Thistle and flourishing.

Thank you, Joan it will be a

Mari,
I feed Coebeio the hairball formula. She has horrible allergies, but it seems to be easy on her stomach and she likes it. Plus when Quintapus was alive, I bought it because it was low in phosphorous and he had CRF. Coey also eats the chicken, mixed in from time to time to keep her interest.
Oh..Belinda, you are making me cry - what a sweet kitty she is - and how
committed you are - now she is in the kitty heaven, and watching you as
a guardian angel..

I have not been following the responses to your posts (am in the

1. Denasyl (sp?) is better/stroonger than milk thistle, I think, for the

I have been giving Denosyl and Milk Thistle to Bruce. You do not need a prescription for it anymore.

Yes, I'm always amazed by badly behaved animal clinic people. I felt bad
about taking poor Flavia there. It wasn't what I expected--at all.

Yes, it was a bad experience. But past similar experience with
my FeLV kitty cats gave me the resolve not to put up withit this time. I
think it wasthe obnoxious receptionist'snegative reaction when I
said (as an afterthought) that Flavia was also feral that did it. I hung on

Keep us posted. I hope Flavia is feeling better now and you got to see your vet.

I'm sorry George is positive for fiv, but he's got himself a good home which is the most important thing. I had a cat with liver problems who took milk thistle. She also took something else that I can't recall the name of. I'll try to find it for you. She has since passed, but it was not from the

Kerry,
I have not been reading posts regularly, and just learned of
Flavia. I am so sorry. it is so strange the way we seem to deal with the same
things-- me with lymphoma over and over and you with inexplicable anemia.
I would try Immuno-regulin too. The article on this group's web page
