Hi Ed,
Sorry, I should've been more careful before posting that. Perhaps it's a
registry setting. On my PC that could also involve a Silverfast upgrade
from 5.2 to 5.5. Does the VS install touch the registry?

Thanks, Ed. Thinking back to your posts on not wanting to install an
extension on Macs, I can see why you'd like to keep VS as self-contained &
unintrusive as possible. If only other software developers would Oh,
don't get me started.

Is there something in the new list config that makes some posts come
through with just "" as the sender? It's not just posts from one
person. For example, the header in Ed's post was:

Not that I think Ed mis-configured his email client ;-)

Interesting review for printing from digital cameras. Too bad they only
used lower resolution images than the ones common on this list. There's a
lot of resampling, sharpening, interpolation, etc. going on in the print
drivers when the best source is a 2000x3000 that was already interpolated

It's worth a call to see if they have any SS4000s. It would be a great
buy, but their web site doesn't list them. Whenever "the scanner to buy"
comes up, I want to say SS4000, if only one could roll back the calendar to
the 2nd half of 2001.

Yep. Conditions are the big variable for mold I've been reviewing &

Some 2006 Japan-only figures put the 5D at a low single-digit portion of

I wonder if the confusion comes from the option for compressed NEF as the
raw format. The D200 default is uncompressed & lossless but it's easy to
change to the just barely lossy compressed option. Compressed in-camera

James,
Go for an adapter. Buying them locally is best so nothing gets
confused (male/female, type of connector, etc) and you can return it if
things still don't come out right. Are you sure it's 60 pins? High
