Dear listers,
does anyone know a way to insert a whole file into another one
(combining files) which will place the staff styles to the correct region?
... or as another solution to copy from one file to another?
Whatever I tried - no luck - I
Each Staff Style has to have in its definition the “Copyable” box checked. Most
of the ones that come built-in with Finale have this checked, but whenever you
create a new one, the box is UNchecked by default, so you have to remember to
check it.
Also, even if the Staff Style has been copied
i don't have a solution, but just to confirm this seems to be bad
behaviour in finale. a colleague has asked me about this (pc F2014),
had a similar problem with merging files, staff styles were not
included. as i say, no solution from me (because i haven't tested
it), but i would check if
If Score Merge doesn't work, you could try moving the staff styles with my
Mass Copy plugin after merging.

There was a glitch on the list over the weekend which caused most if not
everyone to receive these "bounced address" messages. Henry reset the list
manually and things seem to be working correctly now.

Hello, all. I posted this during the "bounces" period, so it likely didn't go
through. Please forgive if you're seeing this twice.
WinFin 2012c: I'd like to have human playback for vibes switch to non-vibrato,
if possible. I've searched this list, both forums, and the (ever-useful)
manual

I am working on a hymn excerpt, and some of the verses have extra syllables
which are denoted by reduced notes. The problem I am having is that the
size of the lyrics under them reduces as well. Is there a way to have this
not happen?

Can't you
I was looking for the Text Font changing options in the Lyrics Menu, but
they are in the Text Menu. Not exactly intuitive, but it's the same
everywhere else in Finale. I just don't use the Lyrics Tool that much.

Hi Douglas,
you can change the "Tremolo speed and level" for the "Vibraphone KS" on
the Aria player "Control" page.
It's listed as CC22 and CC23, so it's probably also possible to change
these values with a Finale text expression during the score playback
using a MIDI message on CC22/23.

I also have this problem with lyrics cue notes where the lyrics
sometimes appears too small to read.
The best solution I found was using two layers for this:
1.) one layer with the reduced cue notes (for example Layer 3)
2.) second layer with "Blank notation" staff style applied with the cue
Never mind, I found it.

Yes, they go on ending should be first, IMHO.

I'm not at my Finale computer now, but I believe if you go into the Edit Lyrics
box, select everything, and apply Fixed Size to that, that should do the trick.

Hello Robert,
You could try this: When there is another syllable for a cue-sized note, back
up to the main note, enter its syllable, then enter a "hard space"
(Option-Space on Mac), then enter the next syllable. You might have to do some
manual adjusting, but I think it might work.

If you reduce the noteheads versus reduce the note, the fonts won't change size.
