my head around that, so thanks for the tips!

A few weeks ago when the discussion centered on the elimination of scanning
from Finale 2014.5, someone wrote that they were using the Pro edition of
SmartScore instead of the SmartScore Lite 8.1 that is included with Finale.
Can't find my password to get into the list archives to see who you
mark already gave some practical advice but there is not really any
such thing in practice as "real" proportional music spacing. or
rather, all music spacing is proportional to varying degrees but some
circumstances warrant an *almost* 2:1 ratio in horizontal spacing of
doubled durational
Although I’ve never used it, I think that’s what Finale means by “Time
Signature Spacing”.
You should be able to accomplish the same thing with the right settings under
Music Spacing Options. I’m in an older version of Finale, but for me that’s
under Preferences > Document Options > Music
