I use MetTimes frequently for the same vertical reason. It doesn’t shift the
scaling much at all and looks good inserted.

Depends on if you only need a few symbols or want to input a full staff
line with notes and symbols in word document.
For simple symbols you could use for example Bravura Text, but it is
difficult to access the symbols as they are in an upper unicode block.
So it also depends on the type of symbo

I've got a situation where a gap is appearing between the barline and a
time signature change. All of the other time changes are appearing
correctly. Does anyone know what setting might be causing the gap in this
single situation?
