downloaded 9.73 but when I try to install it it detects the newer version
and refuses to proceed (actually the message box politely 'recommends'
keeping the newer version and then closes the installer no matter what you

Oops. You're right. Sorry, I did all of that too quickly.
Here are several screen shots at different screen magnifications in Acrobat.
Below 10% does have uneven lines but it is too small for useful viewing
anyway.
Interesting. Pg 1 is bad at all magnifications below 300% and in any Acrobat
Reader from 4.0 through 7.0. To compare these things across setups I think
we need to know the staff size / line thickness / reductions in Finale.

may be more subject to rounding error and hence show more variability. on

the Finale lines are made up of multiple lines of a much thinner stroke.
It's this that is making lines appear bigger and smaller.

just did this with a file that has many articulations and expressions. All
appear on first perusal to be perfect. Trying this from 2004 to 2003 was
problematic as layers were shifted up one number and so layer four was lost.
2005 to 2004 does not seem to have that problem.

I think the Win version of Finale actually supports Twain scanning (ie
you can scan from within Finale). Another thing where we Mac users are
left out in the cold.

Yes. The stems are postioned using the Staff Attributes - Stems Settings
box. The circles are articulations defined to be centered on the
thing visible I could position the staff so that they were in place next to
the stems.

Today's news from MM on exporting EPS:
All of the testing we have done still says that it should work in Windows
98. We are working on fixing it in Windows 2000 and XP.
We do not know when it will be fixed for Windows 2000.
After all, it's only been broken for at least five years now...

I like the arrangement that is being used in the Olympics this time around.
The '..rockets red glare' section is sweet and peaceful. Not a good match

had the wrong units set and so do things like trying to indent a system by
