Thanks for letting me know that Preview on a Mac will allow merged PDF files to
be manipulated as you would in Acrobat. I wasn’t aware that Preview had that
functionality which I used a lot in the past and need again now. Thanks,

Hi: Anyone out there know why I can only create some multi measure rests,
and not others? I clear everything from the measures, but some measures
still won't change. Thanks. Paul

Hi, Paul
Select the measures in question and double-click, which will bring up
Measure Attributes check to make sure you don¹t have any of the barlines
set to ³break mutimeasure rest,² which will keep those measures from being
included in a multimeasure rest.

Hello all,
Thanks for all the input.
I tried turning off the staff names in parts but that doesn't work. I believe
the problem is that I used the score merger to add parts to an existing score
but the score merger function isn’t designed to do anything but merge scores.
So the result is that
and if you're on mac, then the built in Preview will do this.

Maybe I don't understand the issue, but there are separate staff attributes
show name in score and show name in part? Are these not what you need?

The original poster has already combined the files. That's not his problem. His
problem is staff names showing in the parts, which, as Robert pointed out, is
very easily solved by simply turning off show name in part.

I could list dozens of things that are flaky or need to be fixed after merging
scores.
I still think it's good advice to combine PDFs if possible - for me it's the
difference between 5 minutes and half a day.
