So if it's declared as non-MacSymbolFont for Finale, the unicode

Barbara, I just looked into the Mac encoding you could try typing
ALT+0201 (on the num key pad). That sould work if it is declared as
MacSymbolFont.

in the Finale 2014 / Configuration Files folder. If you remove the
entry, it may be necessary to create a new font annotation file
