An experiment we might all try is to list all the menu and submenu (but
I just found another more widely spaced pair of the BD parentheses pairs that
works for the note with the accidental, so that does solve the immediate
problem, but I am still wary of hand tweaking disappearing. I do hot have
Automatic Update Layout checked.

It's Automatic Music Spacing that's affecting the respacing. Also, if
