Re: [Finale] DC al Fine not showing in parts
Thanks Christopher. I've created a new, much shorter file and have exactly the same problem. Since it seems that no-one else is finding this, I can only conclude that I have some incorrect setting somewhere that is causing the problem. If it's ok I'll send you the short file. Thanks, Lawrence On 5 October 2012 18:17, Christopher Smith christopher.sm...@videotron.cawrote: Here's more specific instructions. Re: [Finale] DC al Fine not showing in parts
Yep -- I even tried defining a different staff set and included all staves in it and selected that for the D.C. al Fine marking and still it only shows on the top staff for each group. So in a full orchestra score it actually shows on many more staves than just the top two (at least in my test of a full orchestra score begun entirely in Fin2012c) but it doesn't show on all staves in the score and it won't show in the individual parts if it isn't showing on that staff in the score. But just as you said, all the staves have handles. Interestingly enough, ending brackets don't show either, although repeat signs do show. I just did a test, wondering if there were anything wrong with the ensemble templates Finale ships with, so I created my own ensemble and the same problem exists. So it will be very interesting to learn what the solution will be! David On 10/6/2012 6:22 AM, Lawrence Yates wrote: So it's not just me? On 6 October 2012 11:11, David H. Re: [Finale] DC al Fine not showing in parts
Hi David, Thanks for that. I also tried creating a new staff list and including all parts but that didn't work either. For now, as an emergency measure I'm going to have to create an expression and copy that to all parts, which seems a bit of a fag. Cheers, Lawrence On 6 October 2012 12:26, David H. [Finale] New e-mail list for the JW Freeware plug-ins
Hello! There's now an e-mail list available for announcements, discussions, bug reports, etc regarding the JW Freeware Plug-ins for Finale. Many plug-in users don't like Facebook that much, and I want a platform that doesn't change format all the time and provides a better archive than Facebook provides. This new e-mail list is on my own domain and it's using the Mailman software, which is the most used and tested e-mailing software around (it's the same software that this Finale list is using). The Facebook group will of course continue to exist. I will also continue to post announcements about my new plug-ins to this list (but generally not about updates to existing plug-ins). If you would like to join the e-mail list, please use this link to sign on. http://jwmusic.nu/mailman/listinfo/jwplugins_jwmusic.nu Best regards, Jari Williamsson ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
Re: [Finale] DC al Fine not showing in parts
Hi Lawrence, I checked the repeats, and you were doing it right. However, the staff attributes for the lower three staves were set to NOT display Text Repeats. I turned them on, and all was well. On a large score, you can do this easily in one shot with the Global Staff Attributes plugin. When I was having the problem, the Staff Attributes were correctly set, but the Repeat Assignment was wrong. Both things have to be set correctly. It doesn't bother me enough to open up YET ANOTHER tech support case (I have about fifty complaining about various things) but by all means make an official complaint if you feel strongly about it. It caught me, a reasonably experienced user, so a newbie wouldn't have a chance, i would think.
