Thank you. What I was doing is to delete the part and have it done anew, then I would get all the staff styles correctly. If you change the styles after the parts were made they don't link in the linked parts. Isn't that ironic? On 24/08/2015, at 09:25, Christopher Smith wrote: This is a

I'm happy I could help -- it seems that the more Finale gets improved the worse these improvements seem to work. I'm glad there are workarounds, though, no matter how frustrating they are to figure out. David On 8/24/2015 8:56 AM, Haroldo Mauro wrote: Yes I had Human Playback Off selected.

When you created the expression, did you select Human Playback Off in the Playback tab? If you did that and the swing continues, then it may be because the part was already swinging you need to define an expression for No Swing and in the Playback tab select Swing and then where it says Set To

This is a long-standing bug, going back to the first version with linked parts. While in the score, Staff Tool. Select All, then from the Staff menu select Use selected Staff Styles in all parts and score. Do this at the end of your work on the score, before working on parts, and before you

Yes I had Human Playback Off selected. But I applied your suggestion and it did work! Swing instead of Human Playback Off and 0 in Set to Value. To swing again I duplicated the expression and set it to a value of 45. It works well. Than you! On 24/08/2015, at 09:09, David H. Bailey wrote:

Hi Darcy, I just confirmed this. You can use the JW Change plugin to make stems invisible and it also hides the flag. Maybe it doesn’t do everything else you want, but it is quite powerful. -Randolph From: Darcy James Argue djar...@icloud.com Subject: Re: [Finale] Special tools custom stem

[Finale] Text Repeat Assignment Window

The title bar of this window only shows the first digit of the measure number. So, if a coda sign is a little out of place in the score and you want verify whether it is connected to, say... measure 34 or 35, there's no way of finding out, because the Text Repeat Assignment window's title reads

Are you sure that the swinging comes from Human Playback ? There are many so many ways you can create a swing feeling in Finale. You can also apply Tools - Advanced Tools - Tempo to the measures and set it to no swinging. Am 24.08.2015 um 11:49 schrieb Haroldo Mauro: That sounds good, but I

No, I'm not sure, it probably comes from all the possible options :-) because I messed around with all of them so I can't tell off the top of my head which is on/which is off! It would take some time and patience to clear everything to start from plain playback. I'll do that on my next score.

You can create a text expression with a Human playback off message that only works on the staff that it is applied to. It works better than the Assign Human Playback plugin. I often apply it to the drumset staff as it seems to sound more stable then. On Aug 23, 2015, at 6:12 AM, Haroldo

In the score there are three different staff styles: normal, slash and rhythm, but when I look at the parts, it's all NORMAL notation. This happens all the time! I fix it manually. What is the magic trick that tells Finale that the staff styles in the parts should match those in the score?
