Thank you. What I was doing is to delete the part and have it done anew, then I
would get all the staff styles correctly. If you change the styles after the
parts were made they don't link in the linked parts. Isn't that ironic?

I'm happy I could help -- it seems that the more Finale gets improved
the worse these improvements seem to work. I'm glad there are
workarounds, though, no matter how frustrating they are to figure out.

When you created the expression, did you select Human Playback Off in

If you did that and the swing continues, then it may be because the part

Yes I had Human Playback Off selected. But I applied your suggestion and it did
work! Swing instead of Human Playback Off and 0 in Set to Value. To
swing again I duplicated the expression and set it to a value of 45. It works
well. Than you!

Hi Darcy,
I just confirmed this. You can use the JW Change plugin to make stems invisible
and it also hides the flag.
Maybe it doesn’t do everything else you want, but it is quite powerful.

The title bar of this window only shows the first digit of the measure number.
So, if a coda sign is a little out of place in the score and you want verify

Hi Jan,
Are you positive that this text expression has the result you describe? That is
definitely not what happens on my system (FinMac 2014d). As far as I know, it
is not possible to turn off HP on a staff-by-staff basis.

Are you sure that the swinging comes from Human Playback ?
There are many so many ways you can create a swing feeling in Finale.
You can also apply Tools - Advanced Tools - Tempo to the measures and
set it to no swinging.

No, I'm not sure, it probably comes from all the possible options :-) because I
messed around with all of them so I can't tell off the top of my head which is
on/which is off! It would take some time and patience to clear everything to
start from plain playback. I'll do that on my next score.
You can create a text expression with a Human playback off message
that only works on the staff that it is applied to. It works better than
the Assign Human Playback plugin.
I often apply it to the drumset staff as it seems to sound more stable
then.

That sounds good, but I tried and it didn't work. I've created the expression
as you suggested, Human Playback Off msg, applied to a measure in one of the
staves, but it kept swinging all the same. How do you make it work?

In the score there are three different staff styles: normal, slash and rhythm,
but when I look at the parts, it's all NORMAL notation. This happens all the
time! I fix it manually. What is the magic trick that tells Finale that the
staff styles in the parts should match those in the score?
