Hello.
I would create a new document with two staffs, same amount of bars as in your
old file and copy everything from old file to new one and work from there. This
is not a solution to your problem, but you will get your job done.
Hope it helps,

Hi Folks,
I¹m writing to ask if anyone has heard update plans for Finale 25. I would
like to update a Mac lab from 2014.5 to something newer before the January
semester; any timeline information would be appreciated before I make
plans to modernize the room. F25? F26? I haven¹t found anything on
Ch class for staff optimization. Sounds like maybe you had optimized staves
back in finale 98 and now that is causing your staff in the new version to
remain hidden.

Hello Listers,
I opened a single staff .mus file from 1998 with no problems and added a
second staff in scroll view with no difficulty, but when I go to page view
I can't get the second staff to show. I've got "Set to scroll view spacing"
activated.
Please can someone point me at a solution?
Wow!! Utilities>>Update Smart Word Extentions and Hyphens did the trick in a
fraction of a second!! Makes sense, of course. Thank you!

Hi Harold,
This was intriguing me, so I searched the internets and found this discussion.
Let us know if it helps. It may be a bug, or simply corrupted preferences that
cause it.

Thank you Chuck! I like that. That will be helpful when I use English lyrics.
Most of the lyrics I use now are in Portuguese, though. But who knows…. maybe
there is a similar site for Portuguese hyphenation! I’ll search for it.

I’m using Times New Roman 12. Please take a look at this image, compare the
Lyrics Window with the music, and note how it seems that Finale chooses
randomly where to put hyphens and where to ommit them.
