[Finale] WinFin 2014.5: playback restriction
Dear all, Apologies for what will seem a simple question to most of you. I'm playing back a score which, after 30 measures, ceases to playback. I want to review the whole score by listening in its entirety (for proof reading). Can somebody suggest were the 30 measure restriction lies, so that I can alter to encompass the whole score. [Finale] Fin 2014 Win: Enabling expressions/ ornamentation
Dear all, When starting playback at any point in a score, other than from measure 1, my Fin 2014 default setup will not playback ornaments or interpret dynamics and expressions (just to reiterate that from measure 1 it's not a problem). Can somebody please enlighten me as to how I can enable these for playback? [Finale] Win 10 and Fin 2014
Slightly off topic but windows 10 updates are proving a headache for many Surface Pro users (myself included using S Pro 3). A recent Win update about a week ago removed the usability of my wifi adaptor (can't see any networks) and Bluetooth also disappeared from the software front end). Many attempts at rectifying (roll backs and driver fixes etc all refused) have come to nothing and the latest problem occurred when I tried to deauthorise Finale in readiment to return to Win 8 (lots of users have been doing this due to the network adaptor failures). On the deauthorisation issue, It wouldn't allow me to deauthorise within the program, saying right click on the icon, which I did but still no joy, then on attempting to open Fin it said it couldn't do that either and cited a missing DLL. So it's a phone call to the US to deauthorise by the looks of it. Just thought I'd report this. BTW Fin had been working largely without any trouble, though on a few occasions just crashed without warning (in Win 10) and occasionally lost communication with audio output (which could be reset by opening and closing Fin). I've had this also while attempting to run Bluetooth headphones alongside an external amp/ speaker system (the latter utilising the jack input on my SP3). Hi Robert, As with anything computer-dependant, go for as much as you can afford while factoring in to that future developments of the app, which may require waiting for prices to shift in your direction as the app is liable to be more demanding in upgrades. I went for i7/8GB ram/ 512GB storage (for other working concerns also). This certainly has a refined smoothness with Staffpad, operationally. Hi James, I use 'Notate Anytime' on my Samsung Note 3. I import a blank manuscript page (created elsewhere and stored on my phone's micro SD as a pdf). Within the app you can then zoom to any level and write by hand using the Note 3 stylus (on a variety of pen colours/ thicknesses/ erase and even import/ resize other elements etc) onto the blank manuscript. The Note 3 has a big enough screen to comfortably work in any location/ scenario ironically, a nice return to the old days of paper and pen! I've not yet attempted to scan the result to see how feasible it is in importing to Fin 2014, but thought I'd share this idea anyway. [Finale] Tuplet problem: Fin/win 2014 (bug?)
Dear all, I'm making an arrangement for violin, cello, guitar:- 6/8 time signature with a pickup of one 8th note and attempting to insert a 32nd note pentuplet. After I've inserted the pentuplet successfully, I've then attempted to progress to the first full measure, I've clicked to insert a note in that measure and the pentuplet promptly disappears! I can successfully undo to recover the pentuplet but the same thing happens on repeated attempts. Any ideas? I should say also that on first creating the pentuplet, the file crashed and self recovered in the 'recommended' fashion, so maybe I will attempt a full close down and re-initiate the software.
