I have successfully run both versions on my desktop iMac with Yosimite and on
my MacBook Pro El Capitain, with nothing apparent in any configuration, yet.

I've just downloaded the Fin 2014.5 upgrade. As I understand, there are a fue
issues with this last release, therefore I thought of running the two versions
on my Mac: Would you suggest to do so, and, are there any contraindication in

Went ahead and updated today (not much happening). iMac 2.7 GHz i5, 16 GB.
Still have a small random glitches using human playback playing Garritan
instruments for Finale through Audio Units, but everything else seems the same.
