[Finale] Finale 2014 - Note Mover and TGTools
Didn't Finale a long time ago KILL off the Note Mover? And now it is back? What? Is that a step forward or backwards? The BIG question for me is how well will TGTools work. I use that plugin DAILY, and it seems to not work at all (the full version). Copying the Plugin into Library-Application Support-Finale 2014 gives me this mess, and none of them seem to work. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2311879/Screen%20Shot%202013-11-04%20at%2010.18.43%20AM.png NOT Sent from my iPad 12 -- ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
Re: [Finale] Finale 2014 - Note Mover and TGTools
I haven't been able to try it, but you might try disabling the TGTools Menu (in Fin12) and seeing if it then shows correctly in Fin14. I feel certain the UI changes in Fin14 have probably broken the TGTools menu. contact the developer and tell him how much you need an update and that you are willing to pay for it. Didn't Finale a long time ago KILL off the Note Mover? And now it is back? What? Dang. An option to disable the TGTools menus does not appear to exist. Re: [Finale] Finale 2014 - Note Mover and TGTools
Well, how likely is that? He hasn't officially updated it to work with anything other than Finale 2010, and still refers to Coda Music on his site (www.tgtools.de) I know that MakeMusic uses some of the TGTools stuff with Finale 2014, and those seem to work. Why doesn't MakeMusic just buy out TGTools? It's really an essential thing to have if you use Finale. Re: [Finale] Finale 2014 - Note Mover and TGTools
Well, I had to copy the plugin to the new Finale 2014 folder in the Library folder (I'm on a Mac). It shows up, but none of the things seem to work...which is not good. I use TGTools daily in Finale. The TGTools lite that's included in Finale doesn't hook to the application menu. The Finale UI menu is now in Cocoa, which means that TGTools (full) won't be able to move the menu items as it used to. The easy thing that Tobias could do (for now) is to just disable the menu coding altogether and let users install it in a plug-ins subfolder. However, when Finale goes 64 bit, TGTools will be completely dead. I made a decision about 2 years ago to remove TGTools just to avoid dependencies on it, and make my own tools where I missed them. It's not so much the menu disaster, it's that none of the plugins seem to work anymore. That is a bigger problem.
