I've been noticing problems in the 2008a release with these items not
showing up. Sometimes grabbing the handle (which stays visible, like
the Cheshire cat's smile) and nudging will induce it to appear, while
other times I have to delete it and re-enter it.
These items used to not stay in
Hmmm -- interesting. I create CD's for my students when they start working on
their pieces for Solo Ensemble festival, so I deal with playback quite a bit.
I guess I'll have to work around it (i. e., through-compose) until this issue
is fixed.
Thanks for your input!

I have written to Finale Support about this twice now. Old files and data
copied from old files will cause Human Playback to freeze FINALE dead in
its tracks. The usual stopping point is at 38-40%.
This a major problem for those of us who need to update old files;-(

I'm running WinFin 2008a and have had no problem using Human Playback with
files updated from previous versions. Perhaps you problem is more complicated
than it appears.

Are you perhaps using a staff set when you are doing HP? That was problematic;
2008a cured it AFAIK.

Hi...
Sorry that I'm a bit behind the times and haven't been keeping up with
discussions lately. I just upgraded from Mac OS 10.4.11 to 10.5.1. I
haven't yet made the leap from Finale 2007 to 2008 yet, though that's
the next thing to do. I've noticed that in Leopard 2007 crashes every
2008a seems stable in OS 10.5.1. There are a number of changes from
2007, many quite useful.

Hmm... I wonder if things are different on Intel Macs? Fin 2008a has
quite a number of annoyances for me under Leopard. They do not appear
instantly, but after an hour or so of Finale use they will reliably
manifest themselves. They include:
1) Inability to quit -- Finale hangs on quit,
Hi Darcy,
I am not experiencing any of this on a Power PC Mac (G5 dual 2.0 with
4 gigs of RAM). Maybe it is an Intel thing, though why the processor
should matter is beyond my level of understanding.
