AFAIK, you need to change to the 10.2-gcc3.3 tree, as that is what the
new bindist was built from. We no longer support

will replace some fink files with older
versions. You should just sudo rm -rf /sw and install fink. Virex
should still work with the newer fink files

are some people still using 10.1, especially the server versions, and
if there are packages than are needed i will attempt to backport them.

no. it *will not* work if you download and rename the new sources. try
fink selfupdate-cvs, i think RangerRick updates all the sources to use
fink's own mirror.

you need to install the Apple developer
tools. they are available from http://connect.apple.com for 10.1.x (use
either the December or April versions), and for 10.2 use the cd that
came with the system.
That will install everything needed to build packages from source.

sudo on my linux box for me only, i can exec any command. the best part
about sudo is it logs everything. so if you dont remember changing a
file, you can look at the log. PS: my favorite distro is debian, but i
have not yet tried it for the ppc/m68k. I heard it worked well, tho.
