Then when I ran fink list it said that I needed to run sudo fink index,
If I use fink install (program) then want to remove the installed app
the command remove does not seem to completely remove it. Does the
command purge? Can I use wildcards to purge multiple apps at the same
time?

I am still pretty new to using Fink, I have OS X w/X11. How do you
switch between binary and cvs and back again? There are a couple of
packages I want that don't have a binary distribution (ion,eterm). What
is the advantage of cvs. I have installed many packages with Fink
without any problems,
