the problem with it IIRC from WAY BACK want I worked on my uidgid branch is that dpkg stores the uid/gid and did not the name/group, so if the uid differs when a deb is installed instead of the the fink build process it will have the wrong perms, unless things have changed since then. --- TS

Hi Justin. Long time no see :) Actually, this particular user is only being used during fink build. No files are supposed to belong to that user at the end of the build process. So there shouldn't be a problem. (But maybe we should, if we don't already, do a validator check to make sure
