The maintainer of Fink's guile package recently sent me the info and patch files that allow Guile 1.6.1 to compile and run on OSX. My guess is he didn't commit the mods to Fink because Guile is actually now at version 1.6.3 and he doesn't want to double his work for an outdated release. I'll s

Good catch. The problem comes from how HFS+ deals with case in filenames; basically, the files MD5.3 and md5.3 are treated as the same by HFS+. But openssl wants to install both (so that both "man md5" and "man MD5" work I assume), which results in the symlink overwriting the original. The same
