On a newly installed system, I'm trying to get amarok installed. But,
KDE won't install because libidn won't install.
This is on a newly installed tiger setup on an old G3 gumdrop iMac,

for it), the latest fink, and runnin

Is there a way to specify an extra location for dpkg to
look for downloaded deb files?
My particular reason for doing this is because I maintain a
copy of my TiBook hard drive on an external firewire drive.
I don't just clone the whole thing (that would be pretty
slow), I use unison for user d

good day, list reader,
I've been trying to install mplayer on my new iBook G4 using fink and
having it play also realaudio streams... searched for the solution on

wasn't a solution yet. don't know. anyways: I'm writing here what

and not Panther or Tiger. Duh.
You said the pine package comes with uw-imapd? I'll try that.
Thanks!

What architecture are you using? I
The next page in the package list indicates that it is only available
in unstable for OS X 10.2. Perhaps newer versions of Apple Mail
already function well enough with imap?

That should only be the case for the initial run of "fink index".
Subsequent indexing should be much faster.
I see uw-imapd in the package list on the web page; I have "unstable"
in my fink.conf (both main and crypto); yet I still can't find a
uw-imapd package to install. Is the web page lying or am I missing
something?

commands no longer work.
It might be time for me to upgrade my computer, but I want to inq
