Speaking of fresh installs: since I once again have the opportunity to
choose which X11 to use before building hundreds of packages I wanted to
ask what the preferred one is these days. Some time ago I read on one of
these lists that there may not be a compelling reason any longer to not
use

If you need graphics speed, like for molecular graphics software (eg:
fink's coot or pymol packages), Apple's X11 is vastly superior.
