Dear All. I have been facing this problem since last week. I have had my Powerbook G4 for almost a year. I installed fink as soon as I got my powerbook, working with Apple's own X11, and I had a smooth sailing till last week, when while updating Fink, by mistake I installed XFree86 from Fink.

Some advantages - it behaves like oroborusX (if you want) but more so - it gives easy copy/paste, is faster, etc. Disadvantages - some people have reported bugs in certain programs. It is only a beta, so there are known problems to be resolved at some point. that's as much as I know. Cheers

Thanks a lot! The problem was that 'fink selfupdate-cvs' didn't see the new system-xfree86-4.2-3, even after repeatedly rebuilding the index. I had to manually erase the deb file for system-xfree86-4.2-2, and then rebuild the index. After that, I succesfully upgraded to system-xfree86-4.2-3.
