hi
this is just to report that i installed the fink version of pgplot on
various powerpc and intel macs up to now and it works fine. as far as i
can tell, i haven't seen the slightest problem either at install or when
using it (despite my being an intense user of pgplot). i looks to me
that i

Hi,
I noticed that pgplot (pgplot-5.2-1028) is now compiled with g95 on
intel machines. On my Macbook Pro, this didn't quite work, though.
The error is as follows:
g95 -c -O /sw/src/fink.build/pgplot-5.2-1028/pgplot/src/pgcnsc.f
/sw/src/fink.build/pgplot-5.2-1028/pgplot/src/pgcnsc.f: In funct

Thanks, yes, that made it work.
I do not have the latest Devtools update installed; since fink is not
working
with gcc3.3 yet, according to the website, I wonder

Any idea where to find these?
They are in /usr/lib/libgcc.a. Usually when this bug comes up, people
have some libgcc.dylib in /usr/local/lib that shadows the libgcc.a.
The usual suspect

Stephen: pgplot-perl uses the PGPLOT_DIR environment variable to
ascertain where pgplot is installed. If you upgraded pgplot, then tried
to upgrade pgplot-perl without restarting the shell, this environment
variable will still be set to the old value (/sw/pgplot) instead of the

Hi,
I recently needed to try to install PDL from the unstable directory, and
hence all of it's assorted dependencies on a MacOSX machine. The
installation went pretty well until I hit pgplot-perl-2.18-2, which
failed. It turned out that it was expecting the header file cpgplot.h to
be in /sw

Ok, but I've been trying to get it to build since Wednesday and have been
getting the same results every time.

Chris:
Try running "fink update pgplot-perl" in a new terminal window. It looks
like the PGPLOT_DIR environment variable is set to /sw/pgplot, instead of
/sw/lib/pgplot. If you updated pgplot and haven't re-executed
/sw/bin/init.csh, the old (incorrect) setting will still be in effect.
