Hi .
I'm migrating from v2.5.8 to v 3.0.3.2900 . From LI-V2.5.8.27089 Firebird 2.5
to LI-V3.0.3.32900 Firebird 3.0 (debian stretch (9) ).
As for "application level and services" I have no issues so far.
What is worrying me is restore a db with local users, as I cannot do it even

Ismael, the post was just a heads up for anyone using binaries install on
debian 10 .
Hi list .
Since february I'm using debian 10 for a try (as a server) .
All firebird installs I do, are from binaries downloaded from firebirsql.org .
I don't use unattended-upgrades package because I'm not familiar with it .
I found today that firebird didn't start . After some research I
I've only managed to use firebird from repositories, didn't find
installable binaries from home site.
Regards.

Hi, I run debian since ages.
Just for convenience I install binary packages downloaded from firebird
site, to avoid distro version. Always installs on /opt by default .
Databases files going on /srv/myfolder

Hi !
I'm testing configurations for migration to FB3 (LI-V3.0.5.33182/SS).
I try using security Per database in databases.conf.
mydb = /path/to/db.fdb
{
SecurityDatabase = mydb
}
Applications work fine in this environment, but using gbak remotely
using services manager is giving "Error:
Already registered and downloaded from https://reddatabase.ru .
The version is the Open Edition v3.0.3.554 .
Running on Debian 10 and Debian Testing both 64bit, using openjdk 11.
It works fine with openjdk 8 .
Is working nice, it looks nice. Will be trying much futher .

I use Firebird since 0.x version (open interbase?) .
It's the most versatile db I've found so far : embedded and full server,
linux(99%) and windows, odbc or jaybird.
Installs in 5 minutes with db configuration.
I never had a performance issue that was not my fault and biggest db's
are 80GB+
I prefer to connect over vpn/ssh to remote sites and run Flamerobin
from my pc. I have all customer connections together, which is very
convenient for me .

I've never used Google Groups, so I guess this account is bonded to some
google email account and they want me to use that one. I'll check when I
have some spare time.
Maybe it's time to give a new spin to some netscape.com email account ?
