Thanks all for your responses (and apologies for my tardy reply!)
Roy - that's a really interesting idea. I have a couple of follow up
questions though please. Were you then loading those SWFs into Director,
rather than using a loadMovie to load them into Flash? I assume so,
because although I co

Hi List.
I'm interested in hearing people's thoughts on the issues surrounding
prevention of software piracy on Flash based applications, released on CD-ROM.
We have an existing product range that we are planning to roll out to
territories renowned for software piracy. The infrastructure is th

Just a thought Trevor, but I had some friends (more designer than developer,
but same rules apply), who spent the summers working Hossegor and the winters
in Chamonix. They contracted for UK based companies, while living on European

Okm thanks Ben. What's peculiar about this issue is that it's only apparent
when playing from CD, not HD.

Hi Ben thanks for your response.
That's interesting. Was the problem of the MovieClipLoader onComplete handler
not firing apparent when running from a local hard drive as well as CD please?
Unfortunately I don't know exactly how it's failing either as I am unable to
replicate the problem. It o
Last night I tried to
Run the app on my home PC which had IE6 installed under XP Pro (worked
fine),
install IE7 - sadly, still worked fine.
Maybe because I have Director MX2004 installed too?
Today we plan to re-run the test with a machine without Director on it...
Anybody please...?

Hi List.
We have built a Flash application, published for FP8 that is wrapped in a
Director MX2004 (10.1.1) shell using the latest Flash Asset Xtra.
Part of the functionality is that it dynamically loads and plays back FLVs
using the NetStream Class. This all works very well until we try to ru

No. If you publish for Flash Player 6, you can only use Flash Player 6
features. What you could do is publish for 6 & 8, run a detection scri

I know there's a *big* difference in price, but lately I've been coming back

It's a simple rounding error between floating point and binary numbers, and

F9 player includes VM1 and VM2. VM2 is the one with the performance
improvements. To use VM2, the SWF must be published for Flash Player 9
