The innovation group at Strands Inc is looking for a senior engineer to join the development team working on an Internet and enterprise application. You can see the current application at http://www.actibvapredicciones.com . We are looking for someone who is technically gifted, has a deep end- to-end working knowledge of the Internet. Someone who is passionate about the web, understands, and keeps up to date, about not only the technologies of the web but also its culture. Your primary tasks would be to take charge of UI and information architecture in Flex, quickly coming to speed and contribute to the current feature pipeline, as well as be responsible for preliminary facebook application development. We are 4 engineers team working as a startup within a startup which means if you like then you can have input into all layers of the stack from architecture/infrastructures to algorithms and UI to business strategy and marketing. Strength in computer science, application development and project management skills will be required. UI and RIA experience would also be required, ideally Flash and Flex experience. Responsibilities: * Lead the flex development, taking UI requirements and specs to unit- tested code * Assist in facebook development * Assist in Javascript, CSS and HTML efforts * Assist in system admin and deployment procedures Requirements: * BS in Computer Science * Previous startup experience * Strong technical interest in latest Web 2.0 innovations * Flash and Flex skills (photoshop and AI skills a competitive advantage) * Strong UI and information architecture design and implementation in flex/flash * Experience in production level code * Experience in architecting scalable web applications and patterns * Strong OOP (Python or Java, C++) and component development skills * Working knowledge of MySQL, XML and HTML, Javascript, CSS * Some knowledge of Python/Django * Experience with rapid development and project management methodologies and platforms and tools (SVN, Eclipse, scrum and daily builds) * US Citizenship or permanent resident The position will come with a competitive compensation and stock options, together with a full benefits package (401k and full health [dental, vision and medical] plan for you and your partner). We are looking for people who have passion for development and are creative, both visually and technically. Strength in computer science, application development and UI will be required. The development work will be demanding, requiring skills along most of the end-to-end code, with particular emphasis on the front end during the early prototyping phase. The ideal candidate would have Flash and Flex experience. You will be part of a game changing team headed by a MIT computer science research scientist, another senior computer scientists and three mobile and web engineers.
