Yeah, Jason forwarded it to me and so I had a closer look. It was just
the "WTF?" moment when I thought somebody had been faking my
address...
You never know, today has been the first time I had been an elitist, too. :/

In fact, the word "Googlables", while an interesting
creation, doesn't appear in my mail archives at all.

...except for this thread of course -- sorry, I thought Ken had
re-quoted it because it was highlighted as a quote by Gmail. You had
gotten the mail before me and your reply arrived here first.
So, nobody mailing around with my name :)

Sorry again,
Mark

Dave,

I'm well aware of that.
What I'd like to know, since you put my name in the subject line, is
where that quote is from. It certainly isn't from me and it's not from
the list. In fact, the word "Googlables", while an interesting

If you received it off-list, and it had my address as the sender,
please forward it to me with the header intact.

It wasn't moderated in the traditional sense...you send a post, you wait for
approval, then it goes up.

But it was watchdogged much more closely and "verbal" reprimands would be
given publicly.

[Flashcoders] Re: Flash coders content degrading (Mark Winterhalder)

2006-06-13 Thread Ken Rogers
I have been subscribed to this list off and on since it was started, and
I have nothing but praise for Mark and his courage to say what many are
thinking. It is not an elitist attitude to want this list to return to
the days of being bountiful with the rarest topics. It is true that
initially most of us stuck to this list because it was devoid countless
questions that could be answered with a small amount of effort, and
focused on topics and discussions where there is a gap in available
information. It saddens me that after so many years of wonderful and
exciting information, that this has degraded to simple questions about
scope that are answered all over the net.

I stayed on this list cause this is where you go when you just
absolutely cannot find a solution to something, or wish to help someone
else in that position.

The list is still amazing once you weed out the RTFM/Googlables. I just
wish that the moderators would do this job for us so the overall quality
of the list could stay amazing.
Amazing posts === Amazing people

To those people...thanks for the years of education and insight.
