I am doing the 8.5 in Netscape and 8.0 in IE thing and its worked out well
so far. I have indeed seen many strange things happen with 8.5 in some of my
applications (like tween code firing twice after completion, etc.) so I
steer clear of that for my regular surfing.
I suppose some use 2 computers
VMWare might be a solution too, no idea how the licensing of Flex/Flash
is dealt though. Oh well, it's a pitty to work on two computers at the
same time. ;-)

Summary: The 8.5 Player is alpha, and backwards-compatibility is not yet
complete... please keep a straight 8.0 for testing public work.

flash player 8.5 is in alpha, which means it is most likely that there
are a lot of backward compatibility issues.
