I have actually ran across this same issue today, and the second
option is not working for me in this case. I believe that this may be
caused by the fact that this one view page is loading some flash comm
files and takes a little longer to load and register the associated
view helper. My results

you can also modify the default button width of the Alert control if your
localized text gets too long:
mx.controls.Alert.buttonWidth = 100;

Is there a way to customize the text on the buttons within an Alert
box? I see in the API that there is a flag option, but the only valid
values are Yes, No, OK, and Cancel. I do not see anything that would
allow one to localize the text.

Another issue to look at when considering Laszlo is
internationalization of your product. Laszlo beta 3 does implement
some localizable controls but not completely, such as the button
control. Where as Flex has had a lot of foresight with their
components for localizing, such as there calendar,
