You need to use compc to compile a swc for Flex. The UIObject class Flex
1.5 uses is different from the one Flash put into your swc causing the
errors you see.

Yeah and if you go this route you can use Working Sets to just view
those two projects at one time. It helps get rid of clutter in your work
