There's a book published by torrent on Flex3 that actually rocks.
Of course, downloading of copyright protected material is your own
responsability.

Just go to the Adobe online store and look in 'books'. Cost will vary
 depending on where you are!

LOL, I didn't mean I was going to print them. I've ordered the official
hardcopies from Adobe, very cheap too.

RE: Dmitri Girski [EMAIL PROTECTED] mitek17

Besides waste of paper, what's the point of loosing context search?
Dmitri Girski [EMAIL PROTECTED] mitek17

Like I said, liveDocs I live in all day, would be without them - and of
course stuff like that is pointless to print or have hardcopy, but the PDFS
I'm taking about are not just language references, there's lots more than
that. You really should take a look.

I hadn't really given Adobes documentation much of a look (apart from

free afternoon today, so I thought I'd have a read through the new
 Flex Builder 3 PDFs.

So, 1000s of pages and a whole day later I've come to the conclusion

much so, I'm going to order a printed copy of the documentation set in

It's easy to overlook this source of information, and think it's
essential to look at 3rd party books to teach you this product. I'd
just like to say to both new and seasoned users, that Adobes Flex PDF

IMHO, it's a lot easier to read and learn if you print it out. It's a lot
easier to use as a reference if you keep it digital.

We try to accomodate everyone:

* If you want docs in your IDE, use Flex Builder Help.

* If you want docs on the Web, use the Flex Help Resource Center
http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flex/ , which has links
to PDF files and LiveDocs.

* If you want everything locally, including PDFs for usage docs and HTML
for the Language Reference, download the Flex 3 documentation in a zip
file http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/flex3_documentation.zip .

Also, I'd like to put in plugs for the Flex 3 Getting Started Experience
http://learn.adobe.com/wiki/display/Flex/Getting+Started , which is a
wiki-based site designed for newbies, and for the Flex Doc Team blog
http://blogs.adobe.com/flexdoc/ , which has all kinds of useful
information.

Good work, Randy!

I've never bothered myself buying any books on Flex or AS (even
including so tempting Flex for Dummies in 10 days :)

All necessary information is in the documentation. And I am very doubt
that the missing bits are covered anywhere. (That's why we are all
subscribed to flexcoders)

Cheers,
Dmitri.

I've just ordered the printed Flex 3 documentation. Yay!

Nows the chance for some UK Flexers to buy my Flex 2 docs at a good price..
;-)

I'd also like to give Adobe the thumbs-up on making the product dual
platform - PC and Mac - I'm sure that's helped a lot of people.
