Honestly, I also could not believe it, but I was extensively looking
for good resources, and the best to start with was:
Flex 3 for dummies.
Even though I have a computer science background, my doubts of buying
and reading this books vanished quickly. I have never done anyhing
with Flex,
Adobe also offers another video tutorial series, hosted by Doug Winnie:

This series provides an introduction to ActionScript, and Doug is an excellent
teacher. Episode 13 covers all the addlistener stuff.
