Hi all
In LSB the tuning frequency is in the USB, so when tuning, you don't disturb the
qso you would like to join. When in USB it would be nice to have the tuning
frequency in the LSB. Hw?

Charles, you are so right. Next week we will try again.

Christoph:
The tuning should be such that the carrier frequency remains identical
in both cases. So that if you are tuned to 14.150 in the USA and are
using USB, you are legal if you then switch to LSB, you are not
legal. This can easily be seen by tuning in a shortwave broadcaster and

I am not sure I understand the way you have the SAM set up. It appears that
if you listen to a ssb signal in SAM it picks the sideband that has the
modulation on it?
A change to have the SAM automatically pick the ssb side that has NO audio
in it would be preferred since it is an AM
I was thinks about frequency stability the other day and it occurred to
me that there is a heck of a heater with a nice radiating element (the
DDS) in close proximity to the 200 MHz XO.
Would there be any added benefit to cooling the DDS by convection
cooling (blowing some air over the heat sink)
Hi All,
I got the Flex radio 3/4/06. Hooked it up and worked great for about 1/2
hour. Then while adjusting the Antenna tuner the unit opened the internal
fuse.
I smelled something possibly from the fuse opening. Replace the Fuse.
I now have a Carrier in SSB and no Forward or
ALC was broken for a number of the Previews - for example, even with Power set
to a very low value (e.g.15 watts), peak output (measured on an external
meter) would hit 100 watts. Not good!
Was preview 14 one of those versions with broken ALC?

Jerry,
Have you done the sound card calibration as noted in the Operating
manual. I have a problem where the PA calibration was 10 above and the
sound card was putting out too much gain.
It is the test where toy measure the sound card voltage.

Several weeks back there was a discussion on the use of ULM to

George,
I think that you will have to use the computer sound card to feed
SpectaRTA, just like what you with the Orion. I use a set of powered Bose
speaker connect to the output of the SDR, where I have a set of Y
connectors with the other set of output cables going back to the computer
I belong to several mailman groups and in one of them there is a war
going on about HTML. I pointed out to the admin, who was not doing the
job, that mailman allows the administrators to fix this and told them how.
It then occurred to me why I have been accused on multiple occasions in
