Larry,
I'm not sure a fully understand your post. I have to use the XIT/RIT
in a non standard way to overcome a problem the PowerSDR has with RTTY.
I have no problem with clearing RIT on click tune but PLEASE !!! give me
another way to make PowerSDR compatible with the long accepted
I'm not sure I understand this debate...
But
While I've not been rtty dxing/contesting as long as some, just 15 years of
so.
I've always EXPECTED a cluster spot for a RTTY station to represent the Mark
Freq.
In the beginning of the sound card era, and more introductory rtty users
using afsk, we
I guess I'm being stupid again but:
I've installed beta 1.9. I've re-run USBIO. When I go to Startup and tell it
the USB adapter is present I get an error message saying USB device not found
(-4).
What I am doing wrong this time!?

Larry,
This concept of using the MARK Freq instead of the Carrier freq is
probably unique to RTTY. I don't know why it was established but
unfortunately it is here to stay. Almost all (if not all) modern rigs
have accepted this convention. To my knowledge, all the third party
software as well

FYI the problem was solved (and it was operator error!). I had
activated VAC (rather than just activating it for digital modes)
since I also use it for cw decoding, etc. The transmit image
rejection tone generation does not work with VAC enabled, which makes
sense. So, now all is well!

? If you have engineered it so there wil be no damage,
then the need for enforced vigilance decreases dramatically.

Hi Tom
Yes, its not a 232 port but it is a DB9 female port so people will
probably accidently plug a serial cable into it thats attached to a
computer or to a device. I own an Elecraft K2 and they made the
mistake of using their CAT port as a non-standard db9 port and it
will get damaged
why not simply plug a unwired Dsub into the connector with a Big Red
Industry type LockOut tag. LOL
Actually as it's tough to get behind my desk, I put appropriate connectors
into any unused ports on my equipment prior to connecting the real cables so
that when I bent over struggling to see, I
Does anyone know where to buy plastic dust covers for BNC connectors,
SO259 connectors, and the DB9 on the back of the FLEX-5000? I don't see
those sorts of things in general electronics catalogs. Is there a
specialty supply house?
thanks,

Neil, your prediction will, unfortunately probably come true.

Not yet. The manual for release 1.10.0 (which is what 1.9.1 beta will
turn in to) is currently being written and not yet available. It will
be available soon after the FLEX-5000 begins shipping later this month.
