I'm using 4.10 without any problems (yet). I never found a comment that
said why not to use it?

4.10 will appear to work for a while and then will start having excessive
drop outs, thats why 4.09 is recommended until 4.10 issues are resolved.

Same here... could be that 4.10 has problems with some systems (i.e.,
numerous connections/applications running)?

Now that the even more amazing Neal got me on the air on PSK, RTTY I have made
about 40 contacts and all but two gave me a 599, I am thinking of running the
power down to one watt.
You might think that these stations I worked at 599 programmed into their
software but we all know the Flex is

4.09 works and always works. 4.10 works sometimes and there is a test
version that seems to solve the

Jim, did you tell it that you had a FlexControl when you first installed
PSDR or did you get the knob later? I was running PSDR and added the FC.
Just like you, I found that Win 7 recognized it but PSDR did not. I
finally had to uninstall PSDR and reinstall it, checking off the

Just wondering if you have the FlexControl plugged into a USB 3.0 port?
Mine would not work there so I put it onto a USB 2.0 - works great there.

Also make sure you have the power saving feature turned off for USB devices
(it will power down the USB if it doesn't think you need it).

I don't have a Flex knob so this is just speculation, but I did have a
similar situation

Thanks again to all for the help!
Got the 3000 working this evening with WSPRnet just fine. The WSJT software
is controlling the rig and decoding signals. Now to chase down the rotten
RFI problem when I transmit! Always a challenge - that is why I have
enjoyed ham radio for so long. See you
Hi Mark,
Just got a (relatively) inexpensive headset with boom microphone from
Yamaha. It says it has flat response across voice spectrum.
Questions:
1.Is it worthwhile to use the SDR software to check this? Will it be
accurate?
To check you need an audio signal with flat response.
